The straw-fed pigs are raised in species-appropriate open barns with straw bedding, plenty of light, fresh air, and free range. They enjoy a high-quality diet of barley, wheat, peas, broad beans, and pumpkin pie.
The name Strohschwein stands for controlled meat from the best sources. Our bacon and other Strohschwein products are made according to traditional family recipes, refined with natural spices and only a small amount of salt, and are gluten- and lactose-free.
The raw meat for our products comes from straw-fed pig farmer Hans Georg Nenning in Perg.
The cutting takes place directly on site in Prad am Stilfserjoch in South Tyrol.
